Summit Distributors Inc. provides quality doors, MDF moldings and hardware to residential and commercial builders in the central Canadian prairie region. By offering quality products and excellent customer/vendor service Summit quickly experienced strong growth. Challenges

Since Summit’s accounting funneled through a small in-house department, processing ever expanding payables, receivables and payroll was becoming increasingly burdensome, as was the manual preparation and reconciliation of cheques. With pressure growing on the accounting department, it was clear that improvements and efficiencies were desperately needed.

Solution

Rather than hiring additional staff, Summit turned to Telpay for a technological alternative. In no time Summit was using Telpay’s system for all their bill payments and payroll.

With increased efficiencies in accounting, Summit realized immediate cost reduction, improved controls and time-savings. Hiring additional staff wasn’t necessary, and valuable time normally spent manually preparing and mailing cheques could now be redirected to higher return activities, such as product research and business development.
