With some services, payments cannot be made unless the funds are in your bank account when you enter your payments. That means, for example, that you may not be able to initiate the payment before payday. Then when you do initiate it, payment will be made the next business day which may be after a weekend or holiday. With TelPay you can initiate the payment instructions the day before payday but the debit to your account and the credit to the billers account will be processed the next day.
Example:
Payday is Friday the 15th. You submit your payments to TelPay on Thursday the 14th. We will debit your bank account and credit the biller on Friday the 15th.
This can save late fees or maybe enable you to make larger payments and may avoid your balance going below the minimum required by you bank to avoid service charges.
Only TelPay allows you to initiate payment instructions right up to midnight Pacific Time. Others may cut off at midnight Eastern Time or earlier. Some even cut off at around 6 PM ET. That is 3 PM Pacific time. If you initiate the payment after the institution's cut off time your payment will not be processed until two days later even though your bank account is debited when you enter your instructions. Meanwhile the financial institution is holding your money. As mentioned above TelPay normally debits and credits the same day.
Each transaction you process may cost you a transaction fee. Most financial institutions record a separate debit for each bill paid. TelPay processes one debit for the total of the debits processed on a given day. In this way you can minimize the transaction fees charged by your bank. TelPay provides a separate analysis of all your payments for the past two years so that you have a full record with which to check your payments and budget future expenditures.
TelPay maintains an experienced service staff who will quickly and courteously resolve any misdirected payments. We will deal with the biller(s) to see that any such situations are resolved with a minimum of inconvenience to you.
TelPay prides itself on the fact that its systems minimize the possibilities of errors while maximizing the convenience of the system. At the same time our systems have a very high degree of reliability. This means you can be sure the service you need will be available when you need it.
TelPay has become an important processor of payments for many billers across Canada. Our good relations with those billers enable us to resolve penalty charges when the circumstances justify.
TelPay provided electronic bill payment services to Canadians five years before any financial institution. We defined how such a service can function and remain the lead innovators in the field. Our staff remains the most experienced in the bill payment industry.
