Controller - Trust Account

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Controller, Trust Accounting will manage day to day operations relating to the Trust Fund. The incumbent will work closely with the Controller, Corporate Accounting, senior leader, management, CEO and Board of Directors in managing the Trust Account as an essential part of Telpay’s service offerings, mitigating risks, anticipating challenges and impacting overall compliance for the company. Telpay is seeking a dynamic, driven, adaptable leader with the ability to connect with a variety of people, and contribute to the organization beyond accounting and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accounting and ensure all customer funds are received by Trust Account and dispersed accordingly with accuracy and proper authority;
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of common fraudulent practices and implement procedures as means to mitigate against internal and external fraud;
• Ensure Telpay retains sufficient reserves considering potential risk;
• Safeguard appropriate systems and back up to protect continuous operations;
• Manage relationships with banks and credit unions who hold Telpay Trust Funds;
• Ensure all sensitive data is suitably protected from copying or misuse;
• Ensure accounting records and reconciliations are maintained and current on a daily basis;
• In conjunction with the Corporate Controller, train staff, adapt systems to evolving needs, maintain appropriate bonding and insurance coverage, encouraging continued growth and development;
• Work closely with sales management to ensure customers are appropriate and sustainable in public interest; and
• Provide reports, updates, insights and recommendations to management, the Board of Directors and regulators as required to help Telpay meet its objectives.

Selection Criteria:

• CPA, CA or relevant financial designation;
• Excellent understanding of control and audit process;
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and/or MBA an asset;
• 7+ years of demonstrated progressive leadership success;
• Dedicated commitment to a career in business with exposure to a variety of business environments;
• Strong systems knowledge and technical acumen;
• Legal compliance and risk management exposure;
• Combination of being both a detailed and big-picture thinker; and
• Ability to keep current of financial and technical trends and advancements.

Inside Sales Position

We are seeking a talented and energetic sales professional with experience in cold calling, account management and sales campaign development in the business services or technology sector.  Experience with the accounting services profession or financial services sector would be a definite asset.

The position is based in our Winnipeg head office and you will assist in the development and continued growth of our core business across Canada, with a focus on software as a solution for improving business processes.  This role involves significant time prospecting, presenting and demonstrating our software online and engaging prospects and customers over the phone.  Your efforts will be fully supported by our team of industry-leading marketing and customer care professionals.

• Experience in market segmentation and sales campaign development, execution and reporting.
• The ability to plan, conduct and follow-up on remote sales and marketing presentations via online meeting and sales tools. 
• Proven ability to manage the sales process from plan to close, including managing our customers’ experience from initial contact through to implementation of our software and follow-up to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Good problem solving ability.
• Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM experience.
• Customer service oriented.
• Strong business sense and acumen.
• Motivated and disciplined, with strong time management skills.

Business Development Manager – Financial Institutions

Telpay makes it possible for any size of business to facilitate electronic payments to anyone, anytime.  Telpay creates technology and provides solutions that make it faster, easier and more cost effective to pay bills and receive payments electronically.  We are seeking a talented and energetic leader with experience in selling to corporate clients, including financial institutions and financial service providers. 

Telpay’s Financial Institutions (FI’s) and Financial Service Providers (FSP) partners include banks, credit unions, cash and money stores, prepaid card issuers & retail stores.


The position is based in Winnipeg and you will assist in the development and growth of our FI & FSP business across Canada.  If you are looking to grow your career in Sales and want to join a dynamic company that is committed to its’ team members’ personal growth and development, this position is perfect for you!

Responsibilities

• Manage existing customer relationships and the implementation of new business.
• Ensure contractual obligations are being met with regards to service, pricing and renewals.
• Engage other departments at Telpay as required to meet customer requirements.
• Actively seek out and sign up FI’s and FSPs who require bill payment processing solutions.
• Generate customer proposals and presentations.
• Resolve any issues escalated by Customer Care.
• Evaluate system modification and change requests forwarded by FI’s and FSPs.
• Respond to FI and FSP audit requirements, such as questionnaires and site visits.
• Marketing communication development and coordination to financial institution customers.
• CRM Database management for FI & FSP clients.
• Regular updates to Telpay senior management on overall progress towards objectives.
• Other duties as required

• Minimum 5 years sales experience, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
